Reports to: Cosby High School Principal, Shawna Murrell

Job Goal: Engage students in learning the standards of high school social studies classes. Develop strong mentor relationships with students. Deliver focused well-planned instruction to empower students to
succeed in subsequent courses and standardized tests. Prepare students for success in college and career preparation programs in high school and in attaining their own post-secondary goals. Collaborate
with members of the department in developing a successful social studies program, selecting strategies based on students’ individual abilities and needs. Plan a daily schedule includes three teaching blocks
and a planning block with small class sizes. Welcome opportunities to grow professionally and as a member of a small school community. Perform related duties assigned by the principal. Embrace the
experience contributing to the success of a unique K-12 public school, located at the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
